Dondo Yaki

 Dondo Yaki(どんど焼き). (January 16th)

First arriving in Japan shortly after new years. I was able to experience Dondo Yaki(どんど焼き), the burning off of new years decorations from all the towns participants. Took place at a local elementary school, at this point my Japanese language skills were non existent, but i was still able to have a good time playing some Japanese games and watching the ceremony soon to take place.

Taiko (太鼓^?).The ceremony began with drums, it was quite an invigorating feeling. It reminded me of war drums.

The lighting of the Toshigami(New Years Decorations) began.

It soon became quite the large fire.
